I was shunned four times yesterday. Once even by a special pioneer. I stood right in front of her and waited to see what she would do. And the only reason she refuses to speak to me is because I say that Dan 1:1 is talking about the 3rd year of Jehoiakim's rulership. Not the 11th year of his rulership.
Oh and also the fact that the Co-ordinator of the Body of Elders used the platform to say that the special pioneer's trolley-mate's husband said I was no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Once the CoBE got off the platform he said he had nothing to do with making that decision but just had to go along with it.

i means, i grew up in it, but can't remember much further than the 90s and i don't remember this being always in the payers.

It is perfectly reasonable to pray for the individual members of the GB. If you do talks, why not include this encouraging point in your material. You may get a surprising reaction.

Jesus ate with sinners. In doing so he was not condoning their harmful ways but seeking to educate them. It was the Pharisees who criticised him and he even tried to help them too.
Although Jesus was attacked, he wasn't lonely. Loving, kind and merciful people who wanted to know about the God of Abraham were drawn to him. Jesus explained that if he was treated badly by apostates it'd be the same for anyone else acting in a genuine Christian manner. Speaking from experience, the shunning policy of the apostates (WTBS) fails. Big time. They are the losers if they want to get rid of those who care about them.

Hi Phizzy - when I realised there was a serious doctrinal issue I had to deal with, I felt that anyone born-in had little, if any chance to see through the abhorrent deception. I felt that anyone subjected to the mind-control of this corporate monster could not be blamed for the things they did wrong. It wasn't their fault, they were not only being lied to but deceived in a dreadful way. They couldn't help being deceived, what was/is done to them is like a conjuring trick using words but it affects your mind and understanding. It fogs your brain.
Maybe some have knowingly prostituted their intellect or are cowards. Maybe some really should have known better. If so, I only hope they'll become ashamed of what they have done to their fellow Man.

I joined, not on the basis that it was the truth, but on the basis that as a group of Christian people, this was the best group going at the time.
In my study (1991-92) I noticed things which I felt were wrong and I spoke to elders and my study conductress. The things I noticed were not deal breakers, just grey areas. I was told that if the GB had got anything wrong they would correct it. They were not like the Pope who claimed infallibility. They were not like higher critics who attacked/changed the message in the Bible. So I was lied to. It took some time for me to realise that I was being lied to and that GB would not change their 1914 doctrine as it was the base of their power.
Even down to the very end, before I called them out as standing in opposition to Jehovah's Witnesses, such as Daniel, Ezekiel and Jeremiah, I gave them the chance to correct matters but both GB and local elders were unwilling.

Sad fact is younger ones appointed as elders can get puffed up and WTBS knows that an uses it. Since they got elders who were getting elderly to step down, young elders have taken positions of power. So if older ones (who perhaps were starting to smell a rat) are not in-line according to the view of the CO, the CO will pull the strings of the younger ones to act against the older ones.
I expect you can picture other ways their power could be misused. Being horrid to others isn't age dependant.
